Teachers, STUDY ENGLISH!
Although there is a great number of things we as teachers must know and get better at every day, nothing – absolutely nothing! – is as important as knowing language, as knowing lots about English and getting better at it every day: grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, pragmatic features of the language, to name but a few. We owe it to ourselves but, above all, we owe it to our students. In this talk, we’ll discuss what about the language we must study, how we can go about it, and we’ll also discuss a few aspects of the language that can be quite daunting for teachers of English to learn and teach, regardless of where they’re from.
